Our search for an exclusive buyer’s agent led to Stef, and we are very happy it did! As first-time homebuyers, we really did not know what we were getting ourselves into. We didn’t know what to look for in a house, what to stay away from, how long the process should take, etc., but Stef walked us through every step. He initially took us to a house and did a ‘Buying a House 101’ experience, teaching us about easements and wall cracks and foundations, among other things; that experience was very useful! Throughout our home search, it was always very apparent that Stef’s number one goal was getting us a house we loved that was also a good purchase. For example, on more than one occasion Stef steered us away from a house we thought we loved but that had way too many problems — as first-time buyers it was very comforting to know that our realtor was truly on our side and wanted the best home and investment for us and not just trying to get a commission. He also really got to know our tastes and managed to channel our specific ‘flavor of weird’, which meant that he could preview homes for us, saving us time. It was clear that he really paid attention to our wishes as well; he remembered details about our lifestyle and wishlist many months after we had discussed them. When it came time to make an offer and close, Stef was excellent. He was quick with document preparation, he acted on our behalf with third parties where possible (another big time saver!), and he put necessary pressure on the lender in a very diplomatic way. In the end, we got the perfect house at the perfect price in the part of town we wanted to be in, and our homebuying experience was a true pleasure, all thanks to Stef. “I am a first time homeowner(was a first time homebuyer!) and started looking around Late September/Early October time frame. I have always been a Do-it-Yourself type, so I already had a few picks before I even went looking for an agent. I went to the North American Exclusive Buyers Agents website and set up for them to send me a list of EBA in my area. I called/emailed several, and at first I didn’t know if I was going to go with Alysse, because she had a book, and I don’t really trust professionals that write books… But then, completely unprompted, she gave me a free copy… I was like, wait, why give away a FREE copy of your book, to a potential client… Well clearly it wasn’t about the money, and that’s when I started to pay attention.
