Reality Check
Here are some things to keep in mind while you are house hunting. Try to remember to review this page later to find out how many of them turned out to be true for you!
- There is no such thing as the perfect house! This applies to ALL price ranges. If you can find 90% of what you are looking for, you're doing great! It's never a bad idea to prioritize what's important to you in advance - before your emotions get involved. You'll always have me - the voice of reason - in the background so don't worry about making fatal mistakes.
- Most of the homes I show you won't work for one reason or another. Sometimes the seller's haven't cared for the home. Bad foundations, poor layouts, bad locations...they are everywhere! Keep looking and don't get discouraged - you only need to fall in love with one or two.
- Always keep "resale" in the back of your mind. You want to appeal to the largest pool of potential buyers. For example, buyers looking for a 3 bedroom can easily fit into a 4 bedroom home but the reverse is not true.
- Start looking for homes at the low end of your price range and move up from there. You will never like a $250,000 house after you've seen a $400,000 house! You have only one opportunity to get an unbiased view of the lower priced homes.

I don't express my opinion with regard to personal preferences. BUT, when it comes to business I am very vocal. I will always tell you the positives and negatives about each property and I'll be the FIRST to tell you if I think you are making a mistake that will cost you money in the future. If you choose not to heed my warning, I may ask you to sign a release of liability document.
